The Rookies Ride to Emotional Mastery

Im human. I have emotions, the whole spectrum. Humans need emotions to survive. I dont know about you, but I was developed to believe how being too emotional equals being a complete sissy. I used to put all of my power in avoiding emotions like anger, sadness, envy, jealousy or rage. Its a full-time job. I almost dug my own pit right there. Eventually, Ive had enough, asked for help and went to a psychodrama group session. Next, I found a therapist who felt right and spent four years attending acting classes. Turns out, the only way for me to avoid being too emotional is actually being too emotional. We can train ourselves to master our emotions and then influence...

My Intentions for 2020

Admittedly I amnot so greaton new year resolutions.Knowing that I made some "half-year" resolutions for 2019and I was 3 for 5 for personal and 2(ish) for 3 for the blog. Which isn'tthat badbut since it was only half a year and I never followed up on them, I'm not chalking it up as a win. So this year I'm calling these my intentions. My intentionis to do something. I can’t pretend to have all of the answers to the question of how to best keep a playroom organized. Ours gets out-of-control on a daily basis. Playroom Organization Ideas Don’t expect perfection. It’s not going to happen. I want our playroom to be a place where our kiddos can have fun, be creative, and learn through play. I’m just not going to stress myself out by flying off the handle every time there’s a toy(s) left out. We’ll take...

One thing I hear from my clients, more and more, is how they have less demand for dress-up holiday outfits in December

In the past, we’d set up a whole closet session for me to plan creative holiday outfits for their many engagements. While there may be less demand for official parties and gatherings, there’s always a time and place to add holiday flair. My friends, this is it. I propose we rethink holiday wear and focus on how to bring festive looks into our everyday outfits. We don’t need embossed invitations in order to pull out luxury fabrics, play with color combos, and wear sparkly accessories. Here’s the plan. Going to the grocery store? Wear your black cotton lace pants with a simple sweater. Meeting a friend for coffee? Adorn your jean jacket with a cluster of sparkly brooches. Planning to...
